Vancouver's 1 800 RID OF IT partners with the Homestart Foundation

Since September of 2008, 1 800 RID OF IT Vancouver Junk Removal has partnered with the Vancouver's Homestart Foundation to help provide furniture and other household fixtures to individuals and families that have recently moved into new housing and own nothing but the shirts on their backs.

Each month, 1 800 RID OF IT Junk Removal donates one day of a truck and a crew to pick up items from peoples homes and deliver them to Homestart.  Further, during the rest of the month, the 1 800 RID OF IT Junk Removal crews will drop off gently used items to Homestart.

“This has been a great partnership for Homestart,” says Vikki Stevenson, Director of the Homestart Foundation.  “The RID OF IT crews are friendly and courteous – with the help of 1 800 RID OF IT, an extra 30-40 homes will be furnished this year.”
